RAINBOW BOA
Epicrates cenchria

Jono's Notes

Rainbow Boa - One of the boids I really wanted to catch and we caught two, an adult and a juvenile. The adult was found by the bird team and the juvenile was located during transect work. The juvenile was found in leaf litter next to a bird sitting on its eggs. It was probably waiting for a meal. While a little bit snappy at first, both settled down to have their photos taken. The iridescence that gives this species it's name is just unbelievable.
