Corallus hortulanus

Jono's Notes

Amazon Tree Boa - Always found in trees, these boas tended to come down from the canopy en mass on the same night to feed. On any given night, we would catch at least three if we caught one. Invariably located by red beaming eye shine from our headlamps, we could spot most animals from a good distance. Adults were always brownie coloured, while juveniles would display amazing colours, anything from black and red to bright orange, as the photographs show!
